Hi everybody,
Well, I survived. It certainly was an experience, very intimidatingly, but it was a good day.
On Saturday, Caroline, Sarah and myself attending the Guide Leader Training for Module 12 - known as GAINING. For me as a Scout Leader, this was a very interesting experience, sitting in a room with over 20 other Guiders, and being the only male!
I have to say thou, the day was very well organised, and everybody was very pleasently and friendly. It was strange with constant referes to the "girls" - meaning young people. However, the day was very reassuring to me, as most of the Guide methods of running an International Expedition are along the lines of how I have run the expeditions over the last 7 years. I did try my hardest not to constantly say "well this is how we do it", but temptation did over come me a few times.
I am very glad that I have Caroline and Sarah sorting out the Guide forms, as I am certainly still confused. I think Caroline's method of filling in every form going and sending it out to everybody is one of the best methods going at present!
Still can't quite get over the fact that I drive over 100 miles to a "Guide Leader" training, to find my contact details listed on page 134 of the Guide training manual. Ekkkk
The day was good, and gave me some time to talk with Caroline and Sarah.
More paperwork to do for the selection weekend, and then off to bed!
Jools
